Whether or not you're a morning person, your AM routine can play a huge role in your productivity for the day. Some like to roll out of bed and head straight to work, while others are up with the roosters getting their workout in early. If you workout in the mornings before work, this routine is best for your off-days. If you workout in the afternoon or evening, this is the perfect way to wake up your mind AND body.
Time to wake your body up. Perform this circuit immediately upon waking before breakfast (after a trip to the bathroom of course!). The circuit should take no more than 8 or 9 minutes:
You may have heard people preach the fat loss trick where you consume 20-30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking up. The idea behind this is your body is in fat-burning maintenance mode overnight. In the morning your body craves carbohydrates. By filling your self with protein, which takes longer to digest, you're less likely to snack on the unhealthy breakfast options out there because the protein makes you feel full for a longer period of time. However, we recommend a balanced breakfast that includes not just protein, but complex carbohydrates and healthy fats. It's important to not only fuel your muscles, but your brain as well. Certain fatty acids found in coconut oil (MCT oils) can potentially fuel your brain and promote fat loss. Top either of these easy options off with a nice cup of coffee and you're set!
