1. Eat a light meal containing carbohydrates and protein 60-90 minutes before the gym
This is the perfect time to ingest carbs and protein as the carbs will help fuel your muscles and protein will prime your muscles to recover and rebuild faster.
Remember - don’t be afraid of carbs - especially before and after workouts - they’ll help you exercise harder and longer!
2. Avoid static stretching before your workout (save it for after your workout)
Muscles are like springs - doing traditional static stretching before workouts can reduce force production and potentially increase your risk of injury.
Instead, you should opt for dynamic or active stretching to get blood into your muscles without risking injury.
Save the static stretching for after your workout as you’ll be able to improve flexibility and recovery!
